Why Do People Live here?

Old Los Altos is located right across from where the first trains dropped people off to visit the town nearly 100 years ago.  The neighborhood has an eclectic mix of large and small lots with curved streets and mature trees.  There are a wide range of home styles from contemporary to large, gated estate homes.  The location is ideal for enjoying downtown Los Altos as everyone is within a few minutes walk away.  There is also Lincoln Park which hosts several events throughout the year.

What's the Neighborhood Like?

You'll find every from small cottage homes close to 1000 square feet to estate homes over 4000 square feet with peak prices over $4 million.  There has been significant new construction in the last 3 years as well as several homes being remodeled.  This has had a positive impact on the overall look of the neighborhood but prices as well.  Homes with larger lots, roughly 1/2 acre, tend to be on the western side of University Avenue backed up to the creek. 

What's Going on Nearby the Old Los Altos Neighborhood?

Old Los Altos is located right across from downtown and is bound by two major roadways, Foothill Expressway and El Monte Ave.  In the immediate area (less than 1 mile) there are several quality restaurants, a farmers market, numerous events and festivals, and a luxury grocery store.  This is particularly convenient to get to the farmers market, summer movie series (held on Main Street), or the Los Altos Art & Wine Festival - one of the best in the Bay Area.  Within the neighborhood itself you've got two parks (Shoup & Lincoln) and a church. 

 

What Schools will the Kids Attend?
