July 4th fireworks at Silver Creek Country Club - TODAY 7/3

Want to see an epic fireworks display on July 3rd?  Silver Creek Country Club has put on their own fireworks show for years and it's on tonight from 5:00-9:30PM (fireworks start after dark).  The display is among the best in the area and the view is unsurpassed.  You literally sit on a grassy knoll directly in front of the display, fired from the lower side of the driving range.

Food is being provided by Moveable Feast this year.  This company provides a wide range of international flavors via food trucks.  It's all top quality and the company has won acclaim for the quality and variety of the food they offer.  All the classics including hot dogs (gourmet, of course) to burgers are there plus asian, indian, cajun, thai, and many more to whet your appetite.  Having been to previous years, I'm looking forward to these trucks!

Suggestions For A Good Time:

  • Parking is a problem and most people park along the main road past the gate.  My suggestion is to get there early and stake out a spot on the lawn with lawn chairs, blankets, etc.
  • Bring cash!  And lots of it.  No credit cards are accepted for anything.
  • Bring a camera to take pictures of the view and the fireworks display.  You'll be so close, the shots should come out great.
  • Plan on leaving immediately afterward to minimize the wait.  Traffic gets backed up for a good 30-45 minutes after the event so you'll want to make a dash for the car as soon as the show is over.

Bryan, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the fireworks and good food at the Creek Country Club event tonight!  Sounds like the happening place to be my friend.

I'm never one to make a mad dash for the car, I just sit there until most everyone else is already gone and then I go to my car.  Changed my position to the current one after a Nascar race in Alabama where the real race was to get out of the parking lot.

I just commented on another blog post that we would not be watching a fire works display this year. Why? Well the mosquitoes are just too bad and I don't want to deal with it.

Always promote safety with fireworks. Guys always like things that go "Bang!" but it's not worth getting injured.
