The Highlands / Woodland Acres neighborhood in South Los Altos CA is one of the more interesting places within the town as it offers a diverse range of home styles and lots. At the entry points at St. Joseph Ave or Arbotertum, along streets like Deodara and Granger you have a mix of updated, new, and older homes with most retaining the ranch-style look.
The Highlands / Woodland Acres neighborhood in Los Altos is bound by Foothill Expressway, Highway 280, and Permanente Creek. One intereresting fact: you can walk up Saint Joseph Drive to Stonehaven Drive into San Antonio Park with miles of trails and places to picnic.
As you move into the higher elevations, on streets like Andover and Regent, you'll get more split-level homes as well as views of Silicon Valley. It's important to note that going over the backside of those streets means you'll get more noise from Highway 280. This is also true as lower streets like Deodara wrap around the hill where Foothill Expressway meets Highway 280. The views are very nice in some of these streets depending on the house.
